The mobile phone industry
has a rich heritage and if we try to cover that, we might need a whole separate
website to fully understand that, but we will cover a brief history and current
trends of mobile phones and what future hold for the smart phone industry.
By definition a mobile phone is a simple phone which is mobile or easy to carry from one place to
other, in the beginning phones with long cords were considered mobile phones
because they were easy to carry from room to room in a house but later through
technological advancement the wireless telephones was introduced and phone
stopped the need of a physical wire, at first it was cordless phones where a
physical wire is coming to a house but that wire is connected to cordless
transmitter which made it possible for anyone with a receiver to make and
receive calls within few feet of the transmitter later that concept was further
advanced and telecom industries deployed the cell phone towers which eliminated
the need of physical telephone lines all together. From that on words the reach
of wireless phones also known as mobiles phones was endless.

Early stages of mobile phones only had basic making and receiving calls feature but later through the
advancement in technology and shear innovation of engineers we got feature
phones which can do more then make and receive calls that can also store
contacts send and receive short messages and can hold few games and small
utilities like calendar and organizer. Later mobile battery technology got
advanced which made easier for slim and smaller phones and which can also
connect to the internet through GPRS or EDGE technologies and can install new
apps on demand and provided the end user practically unlimited options for
customization.

Later those feature phones
transitioned into smart phones, the main difference between feature phone and
smart phones were that they can easily connect to the internet through 2G or 3G
connectivity and can perform day to day tasks easily and some times more
continent then using an actual computer.
For quite some time NOKIA was the market leader of mobile phone industry but
later Apple the tech giant introduced a phone with unmatched touch technology
which drastically revolutionized the smart phone industry and now smart phones
can do even more then they can a few years back.
At this current moment
smart phone industry is thriving like an endless sea of innovation and
hopefully in the future through technological advancement and innovation we
will see and use smart phones which we can’t even imagine right now.
