Nail art is an essential part of the fashion for looking so beautiful. Different people do various type of nail art and it becomes possible with proper nail polish. There are hundreds of different verities of nail polish. Everybody (females) has different choice of nail polish which make them to be looked more beautiful. Every female chose their nail polish according to the quality, smell, brand and most importantly color which will match or will be the best option with their outfits.

Almost all the people know the brand and quality of nail polish but have no idea what is nail polish made out of they are using. Today we are going to discuss what chemicals and solvents etc are using to make a nail polish.

Chemical Composition of Nail Polish.

1.       Polymers:
                        The combination of Nitrocellulose and butyl acetate or ethyl acetate made a basic clear nail polish. Typically all nail polish contains Tosylamide/Formaldehyde Resin (TSF Resin) and Nitrocellulose which work together for the characteristics of producing shiny surface and strong adhesion.

2.       Film Formers: 
                               It make a smooth surface on a coat of nail polish.

3.       Plasticizers:
Plasticizers are the film formers and resins which increase the durability and flexibility of the nail polish. This keep the polish strong and reduce the chance to be cracked or chipped.

4.       Pigments:
These are the chemicals which add colors to the polish. Mostly iron dioxide and other colorants used for adding color. For shiny look Mica, for thickness Silica, for increasing the opacity Titanium Dioxide, for pearlescent shimmer Bismuth Oxychloride and Citric acid as a stabilizing agent is used.

5.       Solvents:
For keeping the ingredients solved consistently solvents are used. These Solvents evaporate slowly when the polish has been used. Some of the solvents which evaporates and help in drying the polish after using.
